THE BROKEN CHAIN

We didn’t know that morning . . .

God had called you name.

It broke our hearts to lose you; you didn’t go alone . . .

for a part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

In life we loved you so much; in death we’re in dismay, and,

although we cannot see you, we carry your memory everyday.

Our Family’s chain has been broken, and nothing seems the same.

A missing link here, a missing link there, can it ever be repaired?

But as God calls, each of us by name,

Our family chain may be joined once again.
